"Protection and security were always my thing," Anthony Seda admits. He began his career in security, which spans more than 45 years, working as a department store detective in New York when he was 18. The task of safeguarding other people's assets and protecting people, in general, appealed to him, and after completing a course on private investigations, Anthony began working as a school aide. Then, under the tutelage of his boss, he entered the police academy and followed in his footsteps to become a security aide for the New York City Board of Education. During his tenure, he was promoted to a peace officer for the city and received a heroism award for saving a police officer's life. He also served as a security sergeant at a Bronx hospital. Anthony, who carries private security, private investigation, and process server licenses, eventually retired from law enforcement. He became assistant director at the 92nd Street Y and was responsible for protecting all celebrities who came there, including Hillary Clinton.
In 2006, he relocated to Las Vegas, at the behest of a person who Anthony thought he would be partnering with in business. But, when he realized he was on his own, he forged ahead solo and founded All Purpose Security with only $10,000 and one employee. The company specializes in managing security for conventions, office complexes, apartment complexes, industrial parks, retail centers, warehouses, strip malls, and construction sites. Anthony’s business has since grown, and as a hands-on owner, he handles the company's day-to-day operations, from accounting and scheduling to managing employees and attending all events. In addition, he offers personal service to all his clients and gives his phone number to each one.
Anthony has come far from his humble beginnings as one of eight children raised by a single parent and now strives to improve the lives of others who may be struggling. He is on the advisory board and a proud sponsor of S.H.E.R.O., an organization that provides a safe haven for girls 25 and under who are victims of sex trafficking, drugs, and alcohol. "We recently held a gala to raise money so we can keep on providing services for these girls," he said.
