Ashley Phathanak
Ashley Phathanak feels that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. With over a decade of experience under her belt, she realized her company was subcontracting to a third party for property management, so she stepped up to the plate and proposed they do it themselves. In 2021, Bonavic Property Management was born, with Ashley in the lead as co-founder and director. Bonavic Property Management is a sister company to Bonavic Construction and Bonavic Development and provides property management for both multifamily and single-family long-term rental properties in the southeastern United States. As a management company, they prioritize customer service above all else, as stated in their motto: “Our commitment to customer service is the foundation of our business.”
A prime example of the level of customer service that Ashley and her partners deliver is a multifamily property in Georgia, boasting 100% occupancy and high resident retention, which brought in an excess of $10 million in revenue. “Our sole purpose is to create communities that provide a uniquely high quality of life. We know that there are a multitude of choices out there, and the only differentiator is the level of service a client receives,” Ashley says.
Not only does Ashley oversee the day-to-day operations of the company and properties in her portfolio, but she also handles HR, financials, and is also a real estate agent for Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty. She is grateful for her partners, Charles Haskett and Michael McDowell, who work with her towards the common goal of building the company and growing their portfolio. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without them,” she says. “We always look for the greater good, not only for our clients, but for each other as well.” What is most important to her though, is giving back. “I didn’t get to where I am today without someone taking a chance on me,” she shares. “I strive, daily, to do the same for others, to help my team reach their full potential and become the best versions of themselves.
Ashley is a mom to two amazing children. “Being a mom is a non-stop marathon and throw in a full-time career on top of that, and WHOA NELLY! You don't have to choose between two worlds that you love. You can have them both. You can have a family and a career. It's not easy, but it is possible,” Ashley says.
Ashley is a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM). She was named Property Manager of the Year in 2020, and, more recently, Mother of the Year, Troup County.
