Assad Mallick


For over a decade, Assad Mallick has played a critical role in helping organizations navigate the complex world of compensation and total rewards. Specializing in all aspects of global HR operations—including governance, risk, payroll operations, employee relations, and people analytics—Assad is driven by an unwavering desire to make a profound impact in the lives of others. He’s spent the last several years managing organizational processes and M&A transactions to help achieve business outcomes in creative and innovative ways. In 2021, he joined LifeWorks as the VP of Global Total Rewards. He was promoted to a larger global role in 2022 and took on accountability of all HR operations, including global payroll, employee relations, people analytics, service delivery and policy, and has helped navigate the HR operations through the acquisition of LifeWorks by TELUS.

Prior to joining TELUS Health, Assad held a variety of progressively senior roles across various industries. He’s served as VP of Total Rewards at Cineplex, and assistant VP for Total Rewards at Aviva Canada. As a thought leader and pioneer in the space, Assad is often asked to speak at related seminars and conferences. “Organizations are placing a great deal of emphasis on the employee life cycle and the employee value proposition has been turned on its head over the last several years and I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to play in that sandbox in a meaningful way to improve lives and improve business outcomes,” he says. “Being able to design programs and policies that really cement the legacy of how we attract and retain our employees with well-being at the forefront of everything we do is really what I enjoy most.”


Assad holds a bachelor’s in commerce with a focus in HR and marketing. He’s a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL). He’s also a board member for Oak Valley Health and WINS, and an advisory committee member for the Global Equity Organization in Toronto.
