In the heart of White Plains, NY, Barbara Booth, co-founder and CEO of Go-Be Sleeves, is revolutionizing the travel industry with her innovative approach to wellness and sustainability. With a background in investigative journalism at CNBC, Barbara brings a unique blend of business strategy, innovation, and product design to her venture, aiming to create products that not only enhance travel experiences but also promote ethical and sustainable practices.

The inception of Go-Be Sleeves dates back to 2018, when Barbara's co-founder and close friend, Cornelia Quinn, voiced a concern about the cleanliness of airplane tray tables. Cornelia's son, battling leukemia and autism, frequently traveled for treatments and often contracted bacterial infections after flights. Cornelia suspected that airplane tray tables, which were rarely cleaned, were the culprits. This prompted Barbara to investigate further.

Barbara's investigation revealed disturbing findings. Tray tables were indeed the germiest spots on planes, harboring 2,500 more colony-forming bacteria than the toilet flush button. This revelation, combined with the environmental impact of non-biodegradable single-use disinfectant wipes, motivated Barbara and Cornelia to take action. They envisioned a product that would address these issues, promoting both passenger wellness and environmental sustainability.

The result was Go-Be Sleeves, a brand dedicated to creating sustainable, eco-friendly travel gear. Their flagship product, airplane tray covers, are embedded with non-toxic antimicrobial technology and crafted from post-consumer plastic gathered from landfills and oceans. These covers are housed in patented cases that clip onto any carry-on, are washable, and lightweight. Designed to upgrade personal space into a comforting oasis, Go-Be Sleeves aim to bring joy to every journey.

Barbara's commitment to sustainability extends beyond product design. She emphasizes the importance of educating travelers about ethical travel practices and the tourism industry's responsibility to minimize waste. With over 3 million tons of waste generated by airlines annually, Go-Be Sleeves' mission is to reduce this footprint while enhancing travel experiences.

The future of Go-Be Sleeves looks promising, with exciting new products on the horizon, including its new “My Happy Place” collection of tray covers, which features stunning interpretations of the world’s most popular destination hot spots. Although most of Go-Be’s other initiatives are still under wraps, in 2025 the company plans to expand into hospitals, creating eco-friendly, sustainable products that enhance sterile environments and instill joy in patients. Barbara's transparent and honest approach ensures that every product is of the highest quality, sustainable, and non-toxic.

Barbara Booth's journey from investigative journalism to leading a sustainable travel gear company exemplifies her dedication to innovation, wellness, and ethical travel. With Go-Be Sleeves, she encourages travelers to "go be bold, go be adventurous, go beyond your personal barriers, and live life to the fullest—without worry and without compromise."
