In a world where technology has become an indispensable part of daily life, many people never stop to consider the work that goes on behind the scenes to bring that technology to their fingertips.  And what’s more, not only has technology in and of itself developed and transformed life as many have come to know it, but so too has the way business operates for the companies bringing that technology to people everywhere.

As co-founder and managing director of Partner Economics, Dana Willmer has seen firsthand the transformation of the software industry. Over the last two decades, he has been a driving force behind cloud adoption for both software publishers and their channel partners.

Partner Economics, a boutique consulting firm, is a leader in SaaS business model transition, particularly within the Microsoft partner ecosystem.  Dana describes his role as “consultant, researcher, and business analyst.” With a professional foundation in finance, he possesses an in-depth understanding of how shareholder value is created. This allows him to effectively guide clients on enhancing profitability while helping them navigate their SaaS business model transition.

Having been active in the software industry before “the cloud” existed, Dana and his co-founder have the added advantage of an unparalleled depth and breadth of experience.

During the last 20 years, Dana has provided strategic advice to scores of technology publishers, resellers, independent software vendors, managed service providers, and systems integrators across four continents. He has authored numerous publications and financial models for Microsoft channel partners, helping them build SaaS business models, and his work has been consistently regarded as best-in-class by executives, resellers, and industry analysts alike. It's no wonder, then, that his proprietary research among early movers in the cloud has identified best practices that have been proven to accelerate business model transition while reducing risk and building shareholder value.

Dana’s ultimate goal is to help owners maximize profitability while avoiding the pitfalls of the SaaS business model transition by helping them get “the right things right.”  At the end of the day his greatest joy lies in the success of his clients and the relationships he has cultivated globally in the process.
