Daniel Tocora is not your traditional entrepreneur. He got his start selling phones at a Verizon Wireless retail store, then climbed the ladder to business management. Along the way, he developed an interest in real estate. After emptying out his 401K, Daniel purchased his first condo in Rocky Point, Mexico. It was a vacation rental, run by a management company. His next purchase was a property in Arizona, which he self-managed, and it was the start of something great. From there, he landed management deals with clients who had second homes in Arizona, and what initially started as a side hustle became a full-time gig.
Today, with the assistance of his wife, Valeria, and his family, Daniel manages 55 listings throughout Arizona and nearly a half-dozen in Rocky Point, Mexico under his own flag, AZ Getaway Rentals. For property owners, the company offers full-service vacation rental management—from dedicated customer communications teams to local managers, and everything in between. With over 2,500 reviews averaging 4.9 stars, Daniel and his team are setting the bar by creating the ultimate customer experience. AZ Getaway Rentals is a VRBO Premier Partner and an Airbnb Superhost, slated to reach the $2 million marker for revenue through the platform this year. “Providing a great space for guests where they’re able to have a great time and make memories, and just knowing that I’ve been part of making it happen is really what I enjoy most,” he states.
