Burt-Miller Jr., a United States Air Force veteran, boasts an impressive 15-year career in IT and cybersecurity, serving key U.S. government sectors, including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Now, as a cybersecurity directorate division chief at the NSA, Dr. Burt-Miller is renowned for his cybersecurity expertise, empathetic leadership, and community-building skills. His rapid ascent to division chief, just one year after joining the Agency, underscores his remarkable contributions and leadership qualities.

Holding a Doctor of IT with a specialization in information assurance and cybersecurity, Dr. Burt-Miller is a certified professional with credentials like CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, CySA+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and PMI-PMP. His extensive background and passion for cybersecurity drive his current venture: The Cyber Coffee Hour Podcast.

Founded in 2021 and based in Maryland, The Cyber Coffee Hour is the brainchild of Dr. Joseph J. Burt-Miller Jr. and Alfredzo B. Nash Jr. These two cyber experts from Mount Vernon, NY, united by their love for coffee and conversation, set out to transform the cyber podcast landscape. Observing a gap where the perspectives of those new to the field were often overlooked, they created a platform that prioritizes voices navigating gatekeeping, racism, biases, and other struggles.

Cyber Coffee Hour's mission is to amplify the experiences of individuals at all stages of their cyber journey, featuring guests from diverse backgrounds and expertise levels. The show not only spreads the cybersecurity gospel, but also fosters a more inclusive and empathetic community.
