As an attorney and partner with the law firm, Dwyer, Bachman, Newman & Solop, Elliot Solop focuses on family and matrimonial law, adeptly handling legal issues and cases that can often be complex, emotional and full of conflict. His diverse range of cases includes clients with high net worth, intense custody battles and sensitive issues including domestic violence and other serious situations that may arise during divorce and mediation.
At just 32 years old, Elliot has gained a wealth of wisdom and knowledge from his personal, professional and educational experiences. Elliot graduated from Montclair State University with a BS in finance and earned a JD from New York Law School. While attending college and law school Elliot gained hands-on experience from the many organizations and activities that he was involved in. He played basketball for Montclair State University and also interned as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney during his senior year in college. In law school, he was the president of the Sports Law Society, the chair of the Sports Law Symposium, and was also a certified sports agent for the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
After graduating from law school he began his career in law working as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge John Jorgensen, where he was first exposed to the area of family law and related legal issues including alimony, child support, custody, visitation, emancipation and other topics. He gained additional experience working as an associate attorney and matrimonial associate for Ansell Grimm & Aaron and eventually joined his current firm where he was named partner in January, 2019.
Elliot is the president-elect of the Middlesex County Bar Foundation and a trustee for the Middlesex County Bar Association. In addition, he has co-authored two separate publications: In the Arena: A Sports Law Handbook, published in 2013, and is the co-author of a book titled, Stress-Free Divorce Volume 4: Conversations with Leading Divorce Professionals, which was published in 2018. He is the proud recipient of numerous awards and honors including being listed as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2017 – 2019 and in 2014, he was the youngest attorney to receive the Middlesex County Young Lawyer of the Year Award. He also has a 10.0 Avvo Rating, with over 50 plus 5-star reviews.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Elliot is happily married to his beautiful and supportive wife, Crena, and is the proud father of two young children, Quinn, 21 months old, and, Julian (“Jules”), 3 months old.
