Erick’s career journey began when he joined Citigroup in Mexico. He played a lead role in developing what became the largest asset management firm in the country. His success at Citigroup caught the attention of HSBC, which at the time was expanding its operations in Mexico. His mandate was clear: Replicate his earlier successes. He did just that, building first class investment capabilities. This achievement saw him climb the ranks from senior portfolio manager up to chief investment officer for the Latin American region.

Erick’s transition to New York marked another milestone. Today, he leads the U.S. based investment teams, bringing the same level of excellence and dedication that propelled him over the past 30 years. His expertise managing money different asset classes as well as macro analysis, demanding a profound understanding of various global market trends. This versatility is what Erick finds most compelling about asset management. For him, the beauty of asset management lies in its complexity—a robust system where different elements converge, requiring a broad perspective.
