Geoff Linden
After working at several publicly-traded companies for fifteen years and routinely logging over 70 hours a week in the office, Geoff Linden was ready for a change. He made the decision to leave his role without any solid plans in place. Ultimately, it was the start of something great. Alongside his partner Adam Jahnke, Geoff co-founded Vault Equity Partners in March of 2015. Together, the duo has since transacted more than $750 million in the real estate investment space. After a run of primarily buying and selling over 150 gas stations in a three-year period, the organization is now a typical buyer and holder of quality net lease retail, industrial, healthcare and early education properties nationwide.
Specializing in the acquisition of single-tenant commercial properties leased on a long-term basis, Vault also partners with tenants on financing enterprise transactions through their sale-leaseback program. Vault is currently deploying capital in its second discretionary fund, called Vault-Avenida Net Lease Fund II, a vehicle that raises capital primarily from South America. With the combination of an international capital raising arm and a domestic operating platform, the firm is uniquely positioned in the space. “It’s been an experience that has shown me the true value of simply doing what you say you’re going to do,” Geoff states. “The overarching success of the company has really been all about the relationships we’ve been fortunate to build over the years.”
Where Geoff is the acquisitions deal guy, dividing his time between deal-making during the day and crunching numbers late into the night, Adam runs the deals once Geoff has negotiated the business terms. One of the youngest partners in the history of a prestigious law firm, Adam learned to creatively solve problems and has established himself as a reliable and fair transacting partner. Geoff and Adam also rely heavily on their talented back-office team to keep it all running smoothly. In addition to running a successful business, Geoff is an advocate for work-life balance. When he’s not getting deals done, he enjoys coaching teams for his children. In the last ten years, Geoff has coached over 30 baseball, basketball, football, and math pentathlon teams.
