Greg Quimby attributes his success as an attorney to much more than a twenty-year career in law. As a former police officer, a licensed certified public accountant (CPA), an MBA graduate, and a father and grandfather, Greg relies on his professional, personal and educational experiences to provide his clients with personal services and elite representation.
Greg is a dedicated attorney and the founder of his firm, the Law Office of Greg Quimby, P.C. As a professional with an impressive and diverse background, Greg comments, “I believe that I am uniquely qualified to represent clients primarily because I understand relationships. I have a PhD in family. I've been married to the same woman for 44 years and have 2 children and 6 grandchildren.”
Greg is the chief litigating attorney for his firm, which primarily handles family law. Greg’s daughter, Erica, is also an attorney with the firm and together they manage an experienced team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
Greg explains what makes the practice run so well, “All four of our attorneys are litigators, highly capable of taking cases through mediation and into the court room if necessary. We also have one attorney who concentrates on probate and estate planning. Our office is located only block and a half away from the courthouse, which is extremely convenient as all of our attorneys practice regularly in the courthouse.” Greg is extremely proud of his team of attorneys and staff and adds that they all contribute various areas of strength and expertise to help the firm prosper.
Greg ‘s diverse experience in law enforcement, finance, accounting and law, has provided him with a deep understanding and insight into many issues that help him to serve his clients. Because of his vast experience in these areas, other attorneys often consult with Greg or refer cases to him that that pertain to those issues.
His impressive educational and professional journey has spanned over forty years and began when he graduated from Boston College in 1973. After graduating from college he became a police officer with the Prince George's County Maryland Police Department. While working in law enforcement, he furthered his education, and received an associate degree in accounting in 1983. In 1985, he became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Greg then relocated with his family to Colorado Springs and began working as a CPA. In Colorado, he continued his education and received a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) in finance from the University of Colorado in 1988.
After gaining valuable experience in the accounting and finance industry, Greg attended the University of Denver, College of Law and graduated in 1993 with a scholarship for litigation. Greg then worked as a prosecutor for five years both in Colorado Springs and in Trinidad, Colorado, starting as a deputy district attorney and was eventually promoted to assistant district attorney and the chief trial deputy. His prosecutions included homicides and serious child abuse cases. He never lost a homicide. In 1998, Greg decided to start his own business and founded his own law firm.
While Greg is professionally committed to supporting families through the services of his law practice, he is also deeply devoted to his family, his children and grandchildren and is inspired by the following quote by Thomas Paine, “If there must be trouble, let it be in my day that my child may have peace.” To honor his love for family and his daughter, Greg designed a statue that was cast in bronze, and titled, "My Little Girl". He created it to memorialize his special bond with his daughter, Erica.
