John Even

John Even is an estate planning, probate, and business attorney in the Grand Canyon State of Arizona. When he is not hiking the Grand Canyon or traveling to one of his favorite get-away spots, John is busy serving his family, his clients, and his community.

Following in his father’s path, John focuses his law practice in the areas of estate planning, business planning, probate, trust administration, and guardianships/conservatorships. Since obtaining an engineering degree from Stanford and a J.D. degree from Arizona State University College of Law, John has served his clients regarding Arizona legal matters for almost 30 years.

Recently, John was named in Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates, and he has consistently received an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell for his high legal and ethical standards. Moreover, John has also received over 100 five-star client reviews that testify to his accomplishments. When asked, John states that he always strives to give each of his clients “an EVEN BETTER legal experience.”

How Does Your Estate Plan Affect Your Family?

One of the greatest gifts that you can give your family is the gift of a personalized, well-drafted estate plan to provide for the family members you love, to protect the assets you have worked a lifetime to accumulate, and to pass on the values that are so important to you. As an attorney who has helped hundreds of families through the estate planning process, John knows firsthand the peace and comfort that completing an estate plan can bring to each family. And besides peace of mind, a well-drafted plan also provides each family with many other benefits as well, including tax savings, avoiding probate, and customized distribution plans for your family (which can last for generations).

How Does John Help Out-of-State Clients?

Arizona is a huge retirement state, and many clients retire here from other states. As Arizona’s economy expands, many clients also move to Arizona for employment opportunities. Each year, John helps several of these clients update their estate plan after moving here from another state.

John also helps many out-of-state family members each year with probate and trust matters after the death of a loved in Arizona. In addition, if out-of-state families are dealing with an incapacitated loved one in Arizona, he can help them to get a guardian or conservator appointed for their loved one as well. Since John started practicing law in 1992, he has successfully helped hundreds of families tackle these difficult issues with confidence.

How Does an Estate Plan Help Your Community?

Although charitable giving looks different for every family, John believes that charitable giving should be part of every estate plan. In addition to passing on your legacy for your family, you can also pass on a legacy for your community both during your lifetime and in your will or trust after you pass away.

John believes that one of the greatest gifts each of us can give our community is the gift of a strong legacy of service and a sustainable financial commitment for the future. In his words: “Our community needs each one of us to not only leave a legacy for our families, but also to leave a legacy for our communities.”

John has served the Catholic Community Foundation for the Diocese of Phoenix for over 20 years and recently completed his term as Chairman of the Board. Over the years, his firm has also helped hundreds of 501(c)(3) organizations expand their mission by providing them with top-quality legal representation.

What John loves best about estate planning is seeing his clients’ wishes come to life through leaving loving legacies for their families and communities.
