Joseph Donnelly

 

Helping families reach their goals has been the driving force behind Joseph’s entire career in wealth management, which spans over 15 years. For the clients he serves, he tries to be a steady voice, helping them confidently navigate the myriad complexities and volatilities of the market. Joseph is an executive director, wealth advisor and a founder of the New York and South Florida-based Donnelly Wealth Management Group at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, guiding ultra-high-net-worth families and institutions on financial matters such as retirement, estate planning and portfolio management. He was recognized as a Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor Best-In-State in 2019 and Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor in 2021.1

 

With special emphasis in the areas of alternative investments and specialized lending options, Joseph helms a team of financial advisors who bring bespoke strategies to clients. Their customized approach contrasts the traditional one-size-fits-all model, which serves to differentiate The Donnelly Wealth Management Group from a sea of other financial advisors and firms. “We focus first on the wealth planning aspect and then back into where we think the portfolio should be, working towards each goal without taking on more risk than necessary,” he explains. “We also touch on other aspects of a client’s financial life, whether debt related, liability related, income projections and more—all of which add transparency to the process in terms of how we’re helping clients reach their objectives.”

 

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, Joseph worked at Morgan Stanley, where he served as a senior vice president and a financial advisor for 12 years. It was during this time that Joseph founded the Donnelly Wealth Management Group, which he later moved to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management for the opportunity to utilize the resources of a global firm in his quest to help individuals and families in a more personal and meaningful manner. “Focusing on investments that can help clients pursue their retirement goals or reach a point where they can do what they want in life is really what I enjoy most,” he shares. “Clients are not just numbers to us, they are people, and that matters.”
