Julien Tougeron

Julien Tougeron is no stranger to reinvention. With 18 years of experience guiding entrepreneurs from concept to success, his career has spanned industries, continents, and challenges that would have sidelined most. A former athlete whose trajectory was altered by a road accident, he carried the team spirit of his sports career into the world of entrepreneurship. From building and selling companies to advising global business leaders, Julien has always been drawn to the pulse of innovation. Now, as president of Véloise, he is channeling that passion into reshaping the fashion industry—one sustainable thread at a time.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Montreal, Véloise is more than just a company—it’s a revolution in textile innovation. By transforming natural waste into high-performance, hypoallergenic fabrics, Véloise is giving the fashion industry a sustainable future.

Véloise doesn’t use traditional materials, which often rely on petroleum-based production and create staggering environmental damage. For example, polyester takes 300-500 years to biodegrade, whereas Véloise textiles biodegrade in just 18 months. It’s a game-changing solution in one of the world’s most polluting industries.

The story of Véloise began in the labs of two visionary engineers— who developed a patent as part of university research between France and Canada. Their breakthrough fabric immediately caught Julien’s attention. Having a son with sensitive skin, he understood firsthand the limitations of polyester and the urgent need for healthier, more responsible alternatives. This wasn’t just a business opportunity; it was a mission. Julien knew that with the right leadership, this technology could transform the textile industry at a global scale. Today, Véloise is a powerhouse of innovation, working with some of the world’s most iconic brands. From luxury furniture in Europe, Asia, and North America to a leading global athleticwear company and even prestigious luxury car manufacturers, Véloise is proving that sustainability and high performance can go hand in hand. The company is also setting its sights on high fashion, collaborating with a renowned French designer to launch an exclusive line of luxury apparel crafted from Véloise textiles.

With a lean but dynamic team of 35, Véloise is just getting started. The next step? Expanding production to a global scale with local factories repurposing regional waste into high-quality textiles. But Julien’s vision extends beyond manufacturing. He envisions an international alliance, uniting brands, designers, and innovators under a shared mission: to drive a seismic shift in the fashion industry through biomass textiles.

Fashion has long been synonymous with beauty, but Véloise is proving it can also stand for responsibility. The industry’s future depends on sustainable solutions, and with Véloise leading the charge, that future looks brighter—and much, much greener.
