Kelly Fuller Gordon
An entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the areas of technology, risk management, cyber security, and compliance, Kelly Fuller Gordon has been part of the information security discipline since its onset. As someone who has dedicated her career to helping other organizations navigate and implement cyber and data protection frameworks, she understands the subtle nuances of the ever-changing landscape. A regular panelist and speaker at technology-focused events, she’s made a name for herself working on the front lines, having been part of the first FISMA assessment for NASA back in 2009. Now, Kelly brings all of it to bear with her own business venture, RisX LLC.
Headquartered in Florida, the boutique cyber-compliance, and IT advisory firm does everything from defining risk management program strategy to conducting cyber compliance assessments, providing virtual CISO services, and even performing vendor risk management evaluations. “Many capable businesspeople are intimidated by cybersecurity and its associated business risks. Our mission is to help them better understand and manage the risk,” Kelly explains. Offering tailored services to government and both private- and public-sector organizations, RisX specializes in cyber-compliance efforts, including readiness preparation for industry certifications and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, which is newly required for government contractors. “We really try to break it down simply for our clients,” she states. “No technobabble, no complexity. We explain things in common-sense business terms so that it’s practical and sustainable.”
With an unbreakable system of beliefs, Kelly has always been on the forefront of innovation, advancement, and all that ensues. Her unique perspective lends itself to solving complex and sophisticated cyber challenges with an unmatched grace in a male-dominated space. “From the time I started my career, there’s been a few principles that have been instrumental in creating my experiences,” she states. “The first, while women may be overlooked and underpaid in a male dominated industry, this will not be true for me. Second, I’ll always be in the right place at the right time. Third, everything happens for a reason and is working for my highest and best good.”
Kelly graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s in computer information systems from Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She holds CISSP, CISA, GLEG, GPEN and GLSC certifications.
