When Lionel Haddad founded BioechSolutions Group, it wasn’t just a business venture—it was a mission rooted in compassion, necessity, and personal experience.

Lionel was born and raised in Lebanon, where he witnessed hardship from an early age. Although he initially aspired to attend medical school, he ultimately chose to pursue science—channeling his passion into biotechnology and humanitarian work, with a steadfast commitment to creating meaningful, lasting impact in people’s lives. For 12 years, he also served as a volunteer team leader with the Red Cross, leading multiple units and deepening his dedication to service and community resilience. By 2020, Lionel was a seasoned industrial engineer with a master’s in microbiology and extensive global experience at companies like Amazon. He had the technical expertise to optimize operations and scale complex systems, and had obtained certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, QMS Lead Auditing, and CBRN Disaster Management Preparedness to underscore his commitment to excellence and safety. But it was a deeply personal loss that ultimately drove him to pioneer life-saving innovations in biotechnology.

Years ago, Lionel’s mother passed away from internal bleeding in her brain. “We couldn't diagnose it on the spot, so we lost crucial minutes,” he recalls. That moment became a turning point in his life and career. “I wanted to know how we can save lives and support our paramedics, doctors, and the military in making faster decisions in that critical ‘golden hour’—without relying on expensive machines and losing precious time getting to the hospital.” That idea evolved into the development of a revolutionary handheld, portable head scanner—technology designed to deliver rapid, critical diagnostics in the field.

“Our portable head scanners are ready and we’re starting to scale up production to serve the critical, urgent needs of paramedics, first responders, military, and make them available across the private and public sectors.”

Based in Montreal, BioTechSolutions Group offers cutting-edge solutions in CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) defense, advanced nanotechnology, and AI-driven applications. The company serves a wide range of clients—from government defense ministries and hospitals to SMEs and educational institutions—operating across all phases of crisis response: prevention, preparedness, active management, and recovery. Here, Lionel’s leadership fuses scientific innovation with operational mastery, always guided by a simple but powerful philosophy: “We’re not creating a need to sell a solution. We’re looking where the real need is, and then seeing how we can create or adapt technology to develop products that could save lives,” says Lionel. “It’s not only about the life-saving devices and solutions; our expertise is offered via seminars, counsel, training, preparedness through education and awareness. We all know how unprepared we were during Covid...“ he added.

Driven by a deep love for his family, and shaped by personal loss and necessity, Lionel Haddad is redefining innovation—with purpose, humanity, and hope at its core. “What pushed me to start this company was my mom’s sudden death, but what keeps me going is knowing that what we’re doing what we can to help families avoid the kind of loss we experienced.”
