Maria was born in Argentina, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree, while ranking first of her class. She and her husband, a successful investment banker, are involved in numerous charitable causes including UNICEF-USA, the Robin Hood Foundation, SEO, and 100 Women in Hedge Funds.
