Marissa R. Harper, Esquire
As a decorated military veteran, officer in the reserves, and estate planning attorney, Marissa Harper has dedicated her entire decade-long career to the service of others. During her time in the military, Marissa served as ethics counselor for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, and trial counsel for the 3rd Infantry Division, for which she also ran the tax center. She was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal several times. Marissa is certified as an ethics counselor and to handle domestic operations. After joining the Army in 2013, Marissa worked in the legal assistance office, where she focused on family law, tax law, immigration, landlord-tenant issues, and estate planning. It was there that Marissa fell in love with estate planning and knew that was where she wanted to focus her civilian practice. Today, as an Army reservist, Marissa is a senior defense counsel, defending the rights of those who have defended America. At the same time, she applies her intimate understanding of the law and her wealth of legal experience to manage the estate planning practice at the veteran-owned firm, Zator Law. “Estate planning is very significant and can be difficult because people don’t like to think about their death,” she explains. “It is not an easy pathway to navigate, but I believe it’s unquestionably critical for everyone to do.”
Founded almost three decades ago in the areas of business law and land use and development, the Pennsylvania-based firm also has a strong commitment to community, serving as solicitors for several municipalities and working non-profit organizations. As a service-oriented practice with deep-rooted values and a belief in building long-lasting relationships with their clients, Marissa fits right in. “I get tremendous fulfillment from helping to get people where they need to be and helping them work through what can often be a really difficult aspect of their lives,” she shares.
Marissa is a coach for Girls on the Run, a volunteer Moot Court Judge, a board member of the Sheftel Foundation, and an active member in her local Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, Marissa enjoys spending time with her children and her husband.
Marissa is an attorney licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a Major in the US Army Reserves. Marissa attended Boston University School of Law and the Villanova University School of Business.
