During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when people around the world were acclimating to less human interaction, Parker Johnson sought out to address the issue of robotic marketing practices. In his professional marketing experiences, ranging from non-profits to Fortune 300 companies and even foreign governments, Parker became acutely aware of the absence of human connection in traditional B2C communications. This inspired him to reimagine B2C communication strategies that would foster dialogue –– not one-sided sales pitches. With an entrepreneurial spirit he inherited from his parents, Parker saw his opportunity and ventured out on his own to start Cottonwood Creative.
Cottonwood Creative is a fully remote consultancy, working with businesses across both the United States and Canada. Parker built the company around a strong focus on integrity by way of “humanizing” marketing communications. Cottonwood Creative aims to “create client relationships instead of consumers by providing B2C marketing solutions at human scale.” It offers a wide range of services, including marketing strategy, marketing automation, engaging content development, brand management, content research, and website management.
This strategy has been well received, with Cottonwood Creative becoming profitable in just 6 months. Through continued growth, Parker hopes to see the company evolve into a fully remote digital agency comprised of talented creatives, each bringing their own unique skillsets to the team. Until then, Cottonwood Creative remains focused on its clients and the simple privilege of being their trusted storyteller, sharing their ideas with the world.
