In the face of ever-evolving cyber threats, cybersecurity must be nimble, agile, and innovative, and never rest for even a moment. It’s also an industry that needs to be flexible to meet the needs of clients ranging from small businesses to large corporations. As COO of ThreatIQ, Stefano Di Marco is doing just that, developing successful strategic roadmaps for clients in diverse sectors to overcome cybersecurity challenges and continue their own digital evolution. Founded in Ontario in 2013, ThreatIQ, called CyberSentry before its 2019 rebrand, focuses on partnerships with clients to create security plans and services for companies of all sizes and in all industries. Services include governance, risk and compliance services like PCI and SOC,  and Cyber risk analysis for Industrial Control Systems and Industrial Internet of Things. They’ve also branched into the infrastructure sector with cybersecurity integration for operational technology. In addition, ThreatIQ opened its first U.S.-based office in the fourth quarter of 2022 with head office situated in Florida.

Today, Stefano is working to build a cybersecurity delivery team to partner with organizations and provide actionable, practical, and sustainable advice that truly reflects their needs. Over a decade of expertise in the cybersecurity field has enabled Stefano to identify and overcome security challenges for clients and bridge the gap between IT security and IT personnel to manage risk, resulting in value adds for both clients and strategic partners. His frameworks and methodologies are created in alignment with ThreatIQ’s core principles of providing tailored solutions for each client so those businesses can grow and flourish, working closely alongside them. “We value partnership over a vendor relationship,” Stefano explains. “We like to understand the ‘why’—Why are you undergoing an audit? Why do you need a cybersecurity service? Once we understand that, we don’t just take frameworks, questionnaires, and guidance off the shelf. We use business drivers, the ‘why,’ and our experience to provide tailored, actionable recommendations.”

It was Stefano, when he joined ThreatIQ in July 2020, who helped the executive team put in place a robust assessment framework, specialized practices and a solid Service Delivery team that set the firm apart. And now he’s making sure those tenets support every plan for every client, as well as ThreatIQ’s own growth. “What I enjoy most is the challenge that comes with providing strategic input for building the company,” he says.
