With more than 20 years’ experience in the technology space, Tirthankar Guha is at the forefront of industry digitization in Canada. Dedicated to making a positive impact toward environmental sustainability, he’s worked extensively across countries and continents. “One of the primary challenges we see across industries is with the successful implementation of technology,” he states. “People believe it can make a difference, but it’s easier said than done.”
As head of ecosystems development at Ericsson Canada, Tirthankar is focused on the adoption of 5G and advanced networking technologies across different industry verticals in Canada. “While technology adoption has its clear benefits, implementing the solutions has complex challenges, which also varies across different industry verticals,” he explains. “These obstacles can only be effectively addressed by an ecosystem collaboration of technology providers, industry players, startup incubators, academic research bodies, and regulatory authorities.”
Designed to help companies go digital, increase efficiency, and find new revenue streams, Ericsson enables communication service providers and enterprises to capture the full value of connectivity. “Through technology and automation, we’re able to address things like safety, security and reducing carbon emissions which increases sustainability,” he states. Previously, Tirthankar was responsible for the company’s go-to market strategy for their IoT connectivity platform.
Tirthankar holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Calgary and a post-graduate diploma in international business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
