Andrea Barrett

Andrea Barrett, a luminary in the realm of healthcare consultancy and community advocacy, is the founder of Barrett Health Care Consulting.com (BHCC) and the co-founder and president of Neon City Unity Foundation. With a distinguished background as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a recreational therapist, Andrea's journey embodies a steadfast commitment to merging value-based strategies with cutting-edge healthcare technology to drive transformative change.

Originally hailing from Philadelphia, Andrea's professional trajectory took a pivotal turn upon her arrival in Las Vegas for her final grad school internship. It was here that she immersed herself in the intricacies of the home health industry, conducting home visits and gaining firsthand insights into the challenges faced by aging individuals in America. Witnessing the lack of resources, insurance difficulties, and systemic inefficiencies propelled Andrea to take decisive action. Determined not to be ensnared in a dysfunctional system, she embarked on a mission to cultivate access to wealth and wisdom, ensuring that the majority are active participants in the narrative of success.

In 2022, Andrea founded BHCC in Las Vegas, pioneering the R.O.A.R Model (Respect, Open-mindedness, Authenticity, Readiness for Change), a strategic framework aimed at dismantling systemic barriers and facilitating successful project implementation. BHCC's focus on assisting chiropractors, holistic wellness clinicians, and aging individuals in harnessing the healing powers of functional mushrooms and cannabis underscores Andrea's commitment to holistic, patient-centric care.

In 2024, Andrea's vision for community-centric support materialized with the establishment of the Neon City Unity Foundation. Committed to enhancing the well-being of aging individuals, particularly those experiencing dementia, Neon City develops innovative AI-driven software that offers comprehensive support for users in their daily lives. This visionary approach to program and community center development is underpinned by a steadfast commitment to charitable endeavors, as evidenced by fundraising efforts for projects benefiting veterans, children, and seniors.

Andrea Barrett's tireless dedication to reshaping healthcare and community support epitomizes a commitment to ethical, patient-centric care. Through BHCC and the Neon City Unity Foundation, she continues to pave the way for transformative change, empowering individuals, and communities alike to thrive in an increasingly complex world.

We spoke with Andrea to learn more about BHCC and Neon City, and her motivation in creating them.

Andrea, can you tell us about your specializations?

As a healthcare consultant, dementia expert, change management specialist, community volunteer, and patient health advocate, I am deeply committed to advocating for ethical, human-centric care above profit. My advocacy extends to championing nonprofit health sharing models that prioritize the well-being of individuals over financial gain. Through my multifaceted roles, I strive to foster positive change in healthcare and community support, ensuring that every individual receives the care and attention they deserve.

Tell us more about BHCC and how it is challenging the stigma of medical marijuana use.

Nevada's legalization of marijuana in 2017 opened my eyes to the medicinal benefits of cannabis, particularly for patients seeking alternatives to traditional treatments. Seeing my patients regain mobility and quality of life sparked a mission to provide unbiased education and access to natural remedies.

Through personalized consultations and access to our virtual dispensary, I take pride in guiding individuals towards natural solutions that align with their unique health needs. My approach involves providing comprehensive cannabis and functional mushroom education through virtual consultations. These sessions are tailored to offer personalized guidance on cannabis terpenes and functional mushrooms, grounded in scientific research.

Our innovative program prioritizes individualized care, allowing individuals to make informed decisions based on their specific symptoms, desired outcomes, daily activities, and overall quality of life enhancement. By offering free access to research and related articles, we empower users with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Given Nevada's status as the second fastest-growing dementia population and one of the top three states for aging population, there is an urgent need for accessible healthcare solutions. With a shortage of clinicians and caregivers, our technology plays a crucial role in bridging this gap, providing much-needed support and guidance to individuals and their families.

You also co-founded the nonprofit, Neon City. How does this benefit the community?

I'm driven by a desire to make a positive impact on my community. Witnessing the transformative effects of holistic education and volunteering, especially among children and senior citizens, fueled the creation of our nonprofit. Our mission is clear: to offer multifaceted, intergenerational services aimed at education, health, wellness, and overall quality of life. Our organization operates exclusively for charitable purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We're dedicated to fundraising efforts benefiting the Las Vegas Community Center, with a focus on projects tailored to support veterans, children, and seniors. We're not just here to make a difference; we're here to ignite potential and pass the Neon Torch of opportunity. Through our initiatives, we cultivate genius for the 99%, empowering individuals with life logic, volunteerism, and essential business skills.

I'm dedicated to passing on my estate to the nonprofit, ensuring its continuity in providing better health insurance alternatives and guardianship for vulnerable aging adults. I recently passed the Nevada Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Exam, with plans to establish our nonprofit as a licensed broker. Our goal is to train the next generation to offer affordable, equitable health sharing options, including Indexed Universal Life (IUL) policies.
