Variety is the spice of life, and when it comes to cuisine and nightlife, Brian Parenteau is the toast of the town in Ft Lauderdale. As the founder and owner of DrYnk Bar and Lounge, Tulio’s Tacos and Tequila Bar, and Patio Bar & Pizza, he’s serving up some of the most unique atmospheres and menus to please every mood and palate. From an intimate speakeasy-style bar with a unique backyard, to an upscale twist on classic Mexican fare, and some of Ft Lauderdale’s most beloved pizza. With 17 years’ experience in the restaurant industry at every level, Brian opened his businesses starting in 2017. Since then, he’s been featured in VoyageMIA and received the Rockstar Award from Lifestyle Magazine, and has won SFGN News Best in bars, cocktails, happy hours, Mexican restaurants, and tacos multiple years in a row.
Brian knows what makes a restaurant work because he’s done it all, whether it’s washing dishes or considering the efficiency of spatial layouts. After earning his BA in science and management, he took on a barback role, quickly networking and advancing into bartending and serving roles at several bars, perfecting his craft cocktails alongside his customer service expertise. Wanting to make sure his knowledge had zero gaps, he worked diligently before launching his own businesses. “Once I knew I could do it well for someone else, I knew I could do it for myself,” he says. “I really just enjoy being around people, staff and customers, and making them happy.”
