Dustin Bealby

Dustin Bealby, the president and co-owner of Carolina Renovation Warehouse, is a dynamic and visionary leader who has taken the liquidation and overstock industry by storm. With a career that began in sales and a relentless pursuit of success, Dustin has climbed the corporate ladder with determination and grit, ultimately becoming a driving force behind the transformation of Carolina Renovation Warehouse into a unique and thriving enterprise.

Dustin's journey in the business world started from humble beginnings as an inside sales representative. Over the course of the last decade, he steadily rose through the ranks, moving from manager to director and eventually becoming the vice president of sales for a prestigious $100 million+ organization—all this before reaching the age of 30. During his ascent, Dustin was instrumental in building high-performing teams and significantly increasing profitability. However, he harbored a desire to be his own boss, to have the autonomy to make critical decisions and turn innovative ideas into reality.

In November of 2022, Dustin took a bold step towards his entrepreneurial dream when he purchased what was formerly known as S&C Warehouse. With a clear vision in mind, he orchestrated a complete rebranding, transforming it into the thriving Carolina Renovation Warehouse we know today. Under his leadership, the company experienced an astounding 100% growth in sales within just seven months, a testament to Dustin's unwavering commitment and strategic acumen.

As co-owner and president of Carolina Renovation Warehouse, Dustin shoulders the responsibility of charting the company's vision and ensuring its steady growth. He is deeply committed to fostering a distinct company culture that values innovation, customer satisfaction, and employee development, all while prioritizing profitability.

Dustin's journey to success was anything but straightforward. It took him eight years and three different universities to earn his bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University. This serves as a powerful example of Dustin's belief that hard work, determination, and a relentless pursuit of one's goals can ultimately lead to success. He knows that the path to achievement is not always a straight line, but rather a testament to one's resilience and unwavering commitment.

Carolina Renovation Warehouse, under Dustin's visionary leadership, has become a shining example of innovation. With four thriving stores in the Charlotte, NC region and a robust online presence, the company has redefined the liquidation and overstock market. Unlike the perception that such markets offer random and subpar products, Carolina Renovation Warehouse offers a high-end shopping experience, including brand new products like flooring and kitchen cabinets sourced directly from manufacturers.

One of the company's unique attributes is its commitment to on-demand shopping. While big-box stores often require customers to wait for weeks or even months for their orders to arrive, Carolina Renovation Warehouse stocks a wide range of products, enabling customers to pick them up on the same day. The stores are meticulously organized, creating staged areas that allow customers to envision how the products will look in their homes or in their projects. This dedication to the on-demand model has carved out a niche for the company in the market, setting it apart from competitors.

Carolina Renovation Warehouse's partnership with the Charlotte Checkers, a prominent minor league hockey team, speaks volumes about the company's commitment to its community and its desire to provide exceptional experiences to its customers. Furthermore, with the recent launch of its e-commerce platform, the company is set to capture a broader market and expand its geographical reach.

The company's customer-centric approach caters to two primary audiences: home improvement professionals, including general contractors, property managers, and home flippers, as well as homeowners seeking high-quality products at discounted prices. Carolina Renovation Warehouse consistently offers discounts ranging from 15% to a whopping 60% off retail prices, providing homeowners with substantial savings without compromising on quality.

In the coming 12-18 months, Dustin and Carolina Renovation Warehouse have ambitious plans to double their store count and further expand their e-commerce presence. With Dustin's visionary leadership and dedication to offering a superior shopping experience, Carolina Renovation Warehouse is poised to continue its remarkable journey of success in the renovation industry, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in the Carolinas and beyond.

We wanted to know what makes Dustin so engaged in his role and why it is so important for him to not only support customers and employees, but to also give back to the community.

Dustin, what motivates you? What drives you to continually grow and improve when clearly, you have already achieved success by distinguishing yourself in the industry and achieving impressive revenues?

There are two key aspects of my work that bring me immense fulfillment and motivate me to continually strive to be better. First, it's our dedicated employees. We prioritize their well-being and professional development, fostering a positive work environment and strong sense of community within our organization. Over the past year, we've introduced numerous new positions, providing our team members with increased flexibility in their lives. Witnessing their growth within our company is truly rewarding. Secondly, it's the impact we make on our customers' lives. It's a joy to see customers walk into our stores and realize that they can now afford the home improvements they've been dreaming of. Many leave with smiles on their faces, grateful for the opportunity to enhance their homes without breaking the bank.

You place great importance on community engagement. Please tell us about your charitable efforts.

Our commitment to giving back to the community is a fundamental part of our business philosophy. We have been actively involved in supporting local non-profit organizations and initiatives. One notable project was the creation of a large mural near one of our retail locations with the caption, “Dream Big,”  which is aimed at beautifying the neighborhood and inspiring the local community. I personally visit the mural frequently and appreciate the positive feedback we receive from people in the area. Our goal has always been to be more than just a retailer; we aim to be a trusted local organization that people feel proud to support. We want our customers to shop with confidence, knowing that their purchases not only benefit them, but also contribute to the betterment of the local community. Our ongoing charitable efforts have not only enriched our community, but have also strengthened our bonds with our customers. It's a win-win situation, and we are proud to be part of it.
