Gina Devasahayam

Gina is a biotech entrepreneur who has extensive experience with technologies in the field of longevity/ aging and age-related diseases. Over the past decade, the field of longevity has exploded into the mainstream with many biotech startups in Silicon Valley and many Venture Capital investors entering the field. Gina is currently on the market looking for a novel longevity/ healthspan idea for development at a new startup and the asset can be from academia or biotech or pharma.

 

Gina arrived in the U.S. at the age of 22 from India to pursue graduate studies at State University of New York, Albany. She got a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and went on to do post-doctoral work at University of Virginia, Charlottesville. There, she worked on the mechanism of Rapamycin, a drug that has been fascinating as a potential anti-aging drug. Gina excelled in sciences as a high schooler in India and studied Biotechnology as an undergraduate student at Anna University (located in Chennai), historically one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. Her personal interests include salsa dancing, horse racing, and she is a maritime enthusiast- enjoying time around harbors, marinas, and waterfronts.
