Jillian Anderson is no stranger to success. A powerhouse entrepreneur and seasoned coach with more than 15 years of experience, she is the founder of OYS Coaching, a rapidly growing firm based in Folsom, California. Her mission? To help individuals and organizations break through barriers, master their mindset, and design lives and careers they truly love.

Before founding OYS Coaching in 2024, Jillian built one of the top real estate brokerages in California, growing it into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. Drawing on this firsthand experience, she now supports small business owners, solopreneurs, and corporate leaders in navigating overwhelm, managing time more effectively, and creating meaningful work-life balance.

“I love helping clients break big goals into bite-size benchmarks,” she says. “Often, the biggest challenge isn’t external—it’s internal. It’s about getting out of your own way.”

A John Maxwell Certified Coach and one of the top businesswomen in the City of Folsom (2023), Jillian has coached over 150 clients across the U.S. Her offerings include one-on-one coaching, real estate coaching, and customized workshops for businesses. Most sessions are conducted virtually via Zoom, with options for in-person half- and full-day sessions for corporate teams.

We sat down with Jillian to learn more about her journey, coaching philosophy, and the tools she uses to help others unlock their full potential.

What inspired you to start OYS Coaching and work with small business owners and entrepreneurs?

It was really a combination of things. While I was growing my real estate company, I was also growing as a leader. As the business hit milestones, I had to keep evolving to meet those demands. That journey led me into rooms with incredible leaders like John Maxwell, Dave Ramsey, and Simon Sinek—and it changed me.

I started sharing what I was learning with the top 20% of our producers. And no matter the industry, I saw the same patterns—people wrestling with internal blocks, mindset issues, and emotional triggers. I realized I was being called to something bigger. I wanted to sit across from people and say, “I’ve been where you are—let me help you through it.” That’s why I started OYS Coaching.

What makes your coaching approach unique?

My approach is completely personalized. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all formula. I meet each client where they are, and one of my strengths is taking big-picture visions and turning them into clear, actionable steps. I love dreaming with clients, hearing where they want to go, and then helping them map the path to get there. I also listen for what’s not being said. A lot of people think if they move cities, switch careers, or just “try harder,” things will get better. But real change doesn’t come from rearranging the external. You have to go deeper and uncover what’s actually blocking you. That’s the work I love doing. And I’ve lived it. I’ve faced a lot of the same obstacles my clients face. That gives me a real appreciation for their journey. I’m not trying to be perfect—I’m still doing the work myself. I think that honesty and relatability are part of what makes my coaching so effective.

What do you find is the most common obstacle people face when trying to reach their goals?

It almost always comes down to some version of “I’m not good enough.” People often describe it as fear of failure or fear of success, but underneath that is a deeper belief that they don’t deserve the thing they’re chasing. Maybe that belief came from childhood, a toxic job, a bad relationship—wherever it started, it sticks around and shows up when they’re trying to grow. Even high-achievers deal with this. They may seem confident, but deep down, they’re asking themselves, “Do I really belong here?” Social media makes it worse. Now it’s not just about feeling capable—it’s about looking right, sounding right, and avoiding criticism. What people are really searching for is authenticity. When we show up as our true selves—without fear, without filters—that’s when people connect with us. That’s where I focus most: building confidence from the inside out so my clients can live and lead with clarity.

Can you walk us through your coaching process?

It starts with trust. Clients want to know three things: Can you help me? Do you care? Can I trust you? I work hard to establish that foundation early. Once that’s there, it opens the door to deeper conversations. If I notice a recurring theme in our sessions, I’ll gently bring it up and ask if they’re open to exploring it. Most people are. Then we unpack it together. A lot of the time, it’s a pattern that’s been showing up for years without them realizing it. Once they gain awareness of it, they can begin shifting their behavior more quickly and intentionally. Coaching isn’t about quick fixes. It’s a thoughtful, supportive process. But when people do the work, the breakthroughs are incredible.

Tell us about your new webinar series. What can participants expect?

We’re launching a free live Zoom webinar series, with a new session each month. I’ll be teaching each one, and we’re starting on May 1st with Conflict to Clarity: The Art of Communication. That session is all about identifying your own behavioral style and understanding how others communicate, so you can reduce friction and communicate more effectively. Future topics will include how to balance life and business, purposeful planning, unlocking happiness through small choices, and tools to prevent your day from getting off track. Each webinar includes mindset shifts and practical takeaways you can apply right away. Later this year, we’ll also be launching an on-demand video series. Coaching is personal, but I wanted to create something that people could access on their own time. When they’re ready for more personalized support, we can build a coaching plan that fits.
