For Josh Lillquist, financial literacy is more than a skill—it is a life-changing tool. Growing up in a rural, blue-collar community in Minnesota, financial education was virtually nonexistent. Like many, Josh began his career in construction, but soon realized that achieving greater opportunities required knowledge about money—knowledge he had never been taught. That realization set him on a path to finance, where he discovered not only what was available to the public, but also how essential it is to develop the financial acumen necessary for long-term freedom.

 

Over the years, Josh’s journey evolved into a mission. When the opportunity arose to own a Trading Academy franchise, he embraced it as a way to build communities around financial education. As a franchise owner, he now focuses on the student journey, creating environments where individuals can access resources and guidance to develop practical skills in investing and trading. His leadership spans three locations—in Boston, Massachusetts; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Denver, Colorado—and his daily work centers on overseeing the student journey, and most importantly, making sure students receive the support they need.

 

Josh is also the voice behind Investing and Trading Live, a radio program and podcast he hosts across multiple states and countries. Through the show, he breaks down how markets function, explores opportunities available to the public, and shares strategies for income generation and retirement planning. His passion is clear: bringing financial literacy to as many people as possible.

 

Trading Academy itself is a global leader in financial education, with locations across the U.S. and internationally. Unlike the endless sea of online videos and digital tutorials, the Academy provides in-person curriculum designed to help students build real-world skills. Each student undergoes a discovery process that guides them toward customized learning paths, complete with coaching and mentoring. A cornerstone of the Academy’s approach is its rules based supply and demand strategy, which analyzes institutional order flow to identify where large market players may be buying and selling.

 

What makes both Josh and the Academy unique is their emphasis on community, mentorship, and lifetime learning. Students receive unlimited access to the curriculum, tools, and facilities, and they are encouraged to engage with other investors pursuing similar strategies.
