Since 1998, he has served as an inspection supervisor, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) coordinator, and Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) coordinator on complex oil and gas, oil sands, and pipeline projects. His career reflects a deep commitment to continuous improvement, precision, and safety, in high-stakes industrial environments.
An ASET Registered Engineering Technologist (RET) with certifications as an ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel & Pressure Piping Inspector and API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector, Mr. Christensen uniquely blends hands-on technical expertise with an exceptional ability to communicate complicated concepts. He has written countless instructions, manuals, plans, and specifications that have not only met but exceeded industry standards. In 2018, Mr. Christensen founded the Knowledge Transfer (KT) Project, an innovative initiative designed to streamline project execution and reduce cost and schedule overruns. The KT Project leverages expert insights to deliver key resources that facilitate successful project outcomes. At the heart of this initiative is the groundbreaking 630-page Glossary of Common Industry and Project Terminology. This comprehensive resource is the first of its kind, specifically written for capital projects across energy, industrial, mining, petrochemical, pipeline, and power sectors.
The Glossary addresses a critical challenge faced by project teams: miscommunication. Inconsistent terminology often leads to incomplete, incorrect, or delayed deliverables – costly issues that can jeopardize even the most well-planned projects. Published in 2025, this well-crafted glossary offers precise definitions for thousands of terms, enriched by over 3,000 real-world examples and more than 100 references. Its accessible and engaging content, which includes moments of humour, transforms technical jargon into practical tools that drive clarity and project success. By combining technical mastery with effective communication, Mr. Christensen inspires industry professionals to drive projects forward successfully, with a collaborative spirit, innovation and precision.
