Who is Steven Mamis? 

​

Steven Mamis is the founder and managing partner of FORCS, a New York City-based company providing accounting, operations and back-office support for restaurants. He has 20 years of experience in accounting and finance and currently serves as controller for a 56-unit fast-casual franchisee managing more than $120 million in sales.

​

Steven found his greatest professional fulfillment working with restaurants. Through that experience, he recognized that restaurant operators were often underserved by providers that were either prohibitively expensive or lacked the specialized expertise their businesses require. He founded FORCS in 2025 to help address that need.

What does Steven Mamis specialize in? 

​

Steven specializes in connecting restaurant accounting with day-to-day operations. Through FORCS, he and his team provide comprehensive back-office support for restaurants without their own internal teams as well as those that need additional expertise.

​

FORCS services include bookkeeping and accounting, inventory and operations support, HR and payroll, compliance, sales tax management and automation. By managing these functions, the company enables restaurant operators to concentrate on restaurant operations and the guest experience.

​

Steven and his team also work with restaurant technologies including Restaurant365, POS systems, banking, labor tracking and inventory tools to produce accurate reporting. They analyze the large volume of data restaurants generate, identify meaningful information and develop customized reports designed to support profitable decision-making.

Why did Steven Mamis found FORCS?

​

Entrepreneurship was not Steven’s original plan. His experience working with restaurants, however, showed him the need for back-office support that combined accounting knowledge with an understanding of restaurant operations.

​

That insight led him to establish FORCS in 2025. The company was created around the relationship between operational decisions and financial results, providing restaurant operators with specialized support across both areas.

What recognition has Steven Mamis and FORCS received?

In 2026, Hospitality Business Review named FORCS its Restaurant-Focused Accounting and Operations Management Service of the Year. The recognition follows the company’s growth since Steven founded it in 2025 and highlights its focus on accounting and operations management for the restaurant industry.
