He also founded and grew the Apartment and Hotel Investing Insights community, which has expanded to over 1,800 email subscribers and continues to grow, highlighting his commitment to sharing knowledge and building relationships in the investment community.

We spoke with Charles to learn more about his career journey, how he distinguishes his companies from other real estate investment firms, and the investment opportunities they offer.

 

Charles, you began your real estate career managing your late father’s four-lot mobile home park. Now you’re leading four successful real estate firms specializing in multifamily and hotel investments. Was it passion, skill, or a combination of both that drove your success?

​

While skill played a significant role, it’s passion that has truly driven my success. The passion behind starting these companies comes from a long-standing desire to build generational wealth for my family—a vision I’ve had since graduating high school. That vision was the foundation, and the way we bring it to life is through these four companies, with more to come. This is just the beginning.

​

I’ve been immersed in real estate from a young age, primarily educating myself on the residential side, with some exposure to the commercial side. When my father passed away, I took over managing his assets. After selling the mobile home park and some land, I reinvested my portion of the proceeds into multifamily real estate, which then led to exploring opportunities in hotels. As I grew in the industry, I became involved in masterminds, meetups, and groups focused on these asset classes. One pivotal experience was raising debt and equity for a $128 million luxury condo development project in Sarasota, FL. Working with the project leader, I gained valuable insights into how development deals are structured and funded. More importantly, I learned the critical value of assembling a strong, capable team to bring ambitious projects to fruition. From there, I ventured into deal sourcing, and now I’m leading companies that help others achieve their investment goals. It’s been a journey driven by passion, guided by skill, and fueled by a commitment to creating lasting success.

What makes you unique?

​

I bring a mindset rooted in adaptability and continuous improvement, inspired by agile software development principles. In software, agile development involves starting with what you know, building incrementally, and adjusting as you gain clarity about the final outcome. It’s a flexible, iterative process where you learn and adapt along the way.

​

I’ve applied that same approach to the business side of my companies. Rather than trying to predict every detail upfront, I focus on developing what we know, putting the foundational pieces together, and refining the strategy as we go. As the vision becomes clearer and the market evolves, that’s when we invest more resources, scale up, and optimize operations. This approach allows me to navigate uncertainty, embrace innovation, and make informed, strategic decisions, ensuring that our businesses stay dynamic and aligned with future opportunities. It’s this blend of flexibility, learning, and intentional growth that sets us apart.

How are you bringing value to your clients and investors?

We bring value in two key ways. First, we provide clients with deals that they can either pursue independently through leveraging our deal sourcing firm or collaborate with us through the two real estate investment firms that together allow a global reach. Second, we offer an end-to-end solution tailored to the hotel and multifamily sectors. Our services cover the entire lifecycle of an asset—from sourcing the deal and acquisition to asset management and eventual disposition. This comprehensive approach ensures that our clients and investors have seamless support every step of the way.

One thing you’re particularly proud of is your Apartment and Hotel Investing Insights group. Tell us about this.

The Apartment and Hotel Investing Insights community is a vibrant, inclusive platform designed to connect individuals and groups with an interest in multifamily and hotel investments and capital raising. It provides a space for learning, collaboration, and networking, catering to both novice and experienced investors worldwide. We host online meetups on the second Monday of every month. Each session begins with expert speakers covering topics like apartment investing, hotel investing, and capital raising. The last 30 to 45 minutes are dedicated to interactive networking, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers and each other. The community is free to join, and we’re proud to currently have 1,800 subscribers, with about 500 new members joining every month. We’re also expanding to become a truly global group, ensuring investors from around the world can participate. Additionally, we’re planning to introduce exclusive services and resources for our members to further enhance their experience and support their investment journeys.
