Curtis Kelley
Driving Organizational Culture and Inclusion Through Leadership and Innovation
Curtis Kelley, founder and owner of The Culture Marauders LLC, brings more than two decades of specialized expertise in organizational culture, leadership, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Based in Tampa, Florida, his firm provides organizational leadership and culture consulting, as well as end-to-end podcast production services through its signature “Drop the Mic” experience. Since its founding in 2020, The Culture Marauders has helped companies strengthen inclusive environments, increase employee engagement, and improve overall business outcomes.
A Foundation in Leadership
Curtis’s leadership journey spans 23 years of service in the United States Air Force, where he specialized in logistics and transportation. He retired as a decorated professional, earning a Bronze Star for leadership in combat. His time in the military instilled in him a consistent leadership philosophy—creating engaging, supportive, and results-driven environments—that he later applied in the corporate sector. At TD SYNNEX, he built the company’s Disability Inclusion Program, which helped earn a perfect score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index.
In recognition of his professional impact, Curtis was named a 2024 Emerging Leader by the National Diversity and Leadership Conference. He is also a frequent speaker and panelist on DEI and veteran-related topics, including at the National Network of Public Health Institute Conference and the IN Global Conference and Expo.
Expertise and Education
Curtis holds a master’s degree in organizational management, a Professional Managers Certificate from the U.S. Air Force, and multiple certifications in diversity and cross-cultural leadership from Cornell University and the University of South Florida. His educational and professional background reflects a deep commitment to advancing equitable practices that drive measurable business value.
The Culture Marauders: Consulting and Podcasting
Through The Culture Marauders, Curtis partners with organizations to build more inclusive, high-performing teams. He emphasizes that organizational culture—how people behave, decide, and collaborate—is the “heartbeat” of any business. By fostering inclusive environments, companies can increase productivity, retain top talent, and drive innovation and growth.
Recognizing the growing role of modern communication, Curtis also launched podcast production as a core offering. He views podcasts as a powerful tool for both external brand awareness and internal engagement. Companies can showcase their culture by highlighting leaders and employees, provide platforms for resource groups, and reduce reliance on traditional communication methods. Podcasts also offer cost-effective content creation opportunities, social media integration, and potential revenue streams through sponsorships and networking.
A Mission Rooted in Service
Curtis’s transition from military service to entrepreneurship was motivated by his passion for helping organizations and people thrive. He began podcasting after retiring in 2019, inspired by the camaraderie of military “smoke pit” conversations. His first show led to opportunities with the Florida Veterans Association and small businesses, ultimately evolving into a consulting and production firm that reflects both his professional expertise and personal values.
Today, The Culture Marauders LLC stands as a testament to Curtis’s mission: creating engaging, inclusive environments where people and organizations can succeed together.
