Growing up in a small blue-collar town, Domenic Ionta learned early that resilience is built through adversity and that complex challenges rarely have simple solutions. Today, as assistant secretary and CFO for the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), he oversees a broad portfolio that includes finance, procurement, human resources, information technology, compliance, audit, operational security, and risk management for a billion-dollar budget and thousands of employees. Beyond public service, Ionta has established himself as an independent consultant, author, public speaker, and trusted strategic advisor to organizations navigating uncertainty.

 

His expertise extends across the public and private sectors, where he helps executives, entrepreneurs, government agencies, nonprofits, and global organizations transform complexity into actionable strategies.
