In an industry often driven by tools and products, Jason McKeen has carved a distinct path—one centered on trust, expertise, and people. With 26 years in IT and cybersecurity, Jason launched BlackSwan Cyber Group in February 2025, following a successful career overseeing cybersecurity in the industrial electrical and financial industry. Just three months later, BlackSwan had already secured $1 million in contracts—built solely on relationships, reputation, and results.

 

Based in Saskatchewan, BlackSwan offers vendor-agnostic cybersecurity advisory services, with a strong emphasis on vCISO and vCIO solutions. The firm specializes in helping clients across sectors—including government, finance, industrial, transportation, and energy—navigate complex security needs with clarity and confidence.

 

Jason’s journey began early. At just 17, while still in high school, he earned his college degree in network and security support and launched his first IT company. His broad experience across regulated industries gives him a rare insider’s perspective, enabling BlackSwan to deliver tailored strategies that align business and IT priorities.

 

Beyond technical excellence, Jason is building something deeper: a culture of empowerment. “If I’m successful, they’re going to be successful,” he says of his team, whom he pays $30–40K more than industry averages. “I want them to enjoy life, be with their families, and never stress about money.”
