Karen Kelly

Karen Kelly is a three-time founder and TEDx speaker who has spent two decades at the crossroads of communication, healthcare, and technology. As co-founder and CEO of Launch by Lunch, Boston's first AI upskilling community, she has become one of the leading voices in Boston's tech ecosystem. Karen works directly with organizations to design and implement AI in ways that last: from leadership workshops to custom builds to hands-on team enablement, she treats AI adoption as a culture change, not a technology install. In a world crowded with AI hype, she stands out by making it practical, people-first, and sticky.

Leading Through Change Without a Playbook

Karen helps corporations navigate uncertainty by reframing the role of leadership in the AI economy. Production is no longer the bottleneck; the true constraint is mindset. Karen’s superpower lies in listening with empathy and communicating what’s possible in a way that feels approachable and appealing. She positions AI not as a replacement for human workers, but as a force multiplier for experience and grounded thinking. Organizations that succeed, she contends, will be led not by those who teach machines how to operate, but by those who know how to lead them.

Leading With Trust

At the core of Karen's work is a single conviction: trust built through shared humanity is the ultimate competitive differentiator. In an era of AI-generated everything, the leaders who win will be the ones whose people actually believe them. She helps executives craft authentic narratives that align with their actions, so that employees, customers, and colleagues feel part of a mission rather than a footnote to someone else's strategy. When people believe the story, they believe in the leader. And when they believe in the leader, they do their best work. As AI continues to reshape how organizations operate, Karen argues that trust is not a soft skill or a nice-to-have: it is the asset that will appreciate exponentially over the next decade.

Credibility in the AI Era

Karen's credibility in the AI era is built on practice, not theory. As an AI instructor at the Cambridge Innovation Centre (CIC), regular speaker at Startup Boston, and a judge for MassChallenge, she is deeply embedded in the ecosystem where AI is actually being built and adopted, not just discussed. Through Launch by Lunch, she has led more than 100 "no-code" workshops and partnered with dozens of small and medium-sized businesses to move from AI-curious to AI-operational: helping leadership teams design practical workflows, build lasting habits, and bring their people along for the ride.

Ultimately, Karen's message is clear: technology may shape the future of work, but people will determine whether that future is trusted, understood, and worth building.
