Lisa Klapschinski

Lisa Klapschinski, founder and CEO of LMK Recruiting Solutions, has reimagined the way companies think about hiring, while creating opportunities for women to thrive in their careers. With over a decade of experience spanning corporate, industrial, nonprofit, and startup environments, Lisa built her firm on a foundation of transparency, authentic relationships, and measurable results. Since launching LMK in 2021, she has led its rapid expansion from a small New Jersey operation into a national recruiting partner for clients in logistics, supply chain, technology, and beyond.

At the core of Lisa’s success is a bold idea: shifting from the traditional commission-based recruiting model to a subscription-based structure that saves clients time and money while ensuring stronger, more consistent placements. Instead of acting as transactional middlemen, Lisa and her team immerse themselves in their clients’ businesses, delivering tailored solutions that prioritize quality, retention, and long-term partnerships. Her approach has proven so effective that her very first client remains with her to this day.

Beyond business innovation, Lisa has become a powerful advocate for women in the workplace. In 2023, she published Career Advancement for Women: A Guide to Empowerment, Confidence, and Fulfillment in the Workplace, a book born from countless conversations with candidates who undervalued themselves in negotiations. Determined to close the wage gap and help women step into their worth, she wrote candidly about strategies to build confidence, advocate for fair pay, and balance professional ambition with personal commitments.

As an entrepreneur and mother of three, Lisa knows firsthand the challenges of balancing family and career. Yet, she views her journey as proof that women do not have to choose between the two. From starting her firm while preparing to welcome her first child to building a flexible, supportive environment for her all-women team, she continues to lead by example, showing that success and fulfillment are possible without sacrificing authenticity. In both her company and her writing, Lisa is making an impact on women’s lives, inspiring them to aim higher, ask for more, and believe in their own potential.

In the conversation that follows, Lisa shares the story behind launching LMK Recruiting Solutions, her innovative subscription-based model, and her mission to empower women to pursue their careers with confidence and purpose.

When you started your own company, why did you choose to focus specifically in logistics, supply chain, and technology?

Well, I actually didn’t choose it deliberately—I kind of fell into it. I was working for another agency before I started my own company, and I was making the most placements. One day I thought, why am I making this company all this money? I was pregnant with my first child, but I knew I had to do something different. I told them I wasn’t coming back from maternity leave. My husband thought I was crazy—we had just bought our first house, we were about to have our first baby, and he asked, “How are we going to pay for this?” I said, “I don’t know, but I’ll figure it out.” I had no idea how to start a business, so I just began calling companies that were posting ads on Indeed and saying, “Hey, I’m offering recruitment services—want to sign up with me?” And it worked! My very first client—who signed up with me five years ago—is still with me today. Now, with three kids and a steadily growing business, what I value most isn’t just the success—it’s leading an incredible team of women. I’m proud to have built a flexible environment where they can truly excel.

What makes your company unique?

Without a doubt, our subscription-based model. As soon as people hear that, they’re hooked. From a cost perspective, it helps them streamline expenses, but it’s also about the relationships we build. A lot of agencies are very transactional—they don’t really know their clients, so the candidate experience suffers. Because we take the time to understand our clients, we can provide candidates with a complete picture. Too often, I’m told, “I met with a recruiter who couldn’t even tell me anything about the company.” That’s unacceptable. We change that dynamic.

How does the subscription model work, and how did you come up with it?

The idea came when I was contracting on Upwork. A client asked me, “How many hours will it take to get good candidates?” Recruiting doesn’t end at 5:00, so an hourly model didn’t make sense. I came up with the subscription idea, and it’s been successful ever since.

We offer different plans based on the number of roles—one to five, six to ten, or ten-plus. Even if you only make one placement, the subscription is far more cost-effective than what most agencies charge. I remember being at an agency and seeing clients pay $20,000 for a single candidate, and I thought, “there’s got to be a better way.” With our model, companies can fill multiple roles at a fraction of that cost, and because we keep overhead low, I’m able to pay my staff well and offer great bonuses.

What inspired you to write your book on women’s career advancement?

Career Advancement for Women: A Guide to Empowerment, Confidence, and Fulfillment in the Workplace came from the interviews I was having every day. The biggest thing that stood out was salary expectations. If the range for a role was $90,000 to $100,000, nine times out of ten the men would ask for $100,000, and nine times out of ten the women would ask for $90,000. It drove me crazy. I wanted women to see that they can and should ask for what they’re worth. That’s why I wrote the book, to encourage women not to settle for less.

Can you share one piece of advice that our readers can put into action right now?

I’d say whatever goal you’re working on, don’t look at it all at once—it’s overwhelming. When I started, I dedicated just 15 minutes a day to moving things forward, whether that was brainstorming, reading, or making calls. Those little steps add up. It’s like eating the elephant one bite at a time. If you commit small pockets of focused time, you’ll be amazed at how much progress you can make.
