Sonya Weigle

Sonya Weigle has spent more than twenty-five years in the life sciences world, navigating the shift so many scientific organizations make—from research-driven missions to fully commercial enterprises. Along the way, she discovered something equally powerful: the evolution leaders must undergo when their professional identities outgrow their environments. After years as a CEO, founder, and C-suite executive, she realized her own next chapter needed to be built with intention, autonomy, and the kind of freedom rarely afforded inside traditional corporate walls. That revelation became her catalyst. And from it, she created The Catalytic Collective—a community designed exclusively for exceptional women with 20+ years of experience who are ready to redefine success on their own terms.

For Sonya, this work goes far beyond networking and coaching. It is about using strategic rigor, deep lived experience, and a uniquely female lens to help high-achieving women envision and build futures that are both financially viable and personally meaningful. Through carefully curated membership, immersive programming, visionary frameworks, and the creation of spaces where honesty and ambition coexist, Sonya is helping women craft next chapters, driven not by obligation, but by sovereignty, alignment, and freedom. Her own journey has been one of reinvention, hosting a global radio show on M&A integration, helping bring an orphan drug to market for a rare pediatric epilepsy, leading organizations as both a CEO and a chief people and IR officer, and repeatedly rearchitecting her career to serve her family and her purpose. The Catalytic Collective is the culmination of this lived experience, paired with a passion for supporting other women through their own transformations. And as the community grows, so does the possibility of what these women—together—can build next.

Sonya, what makes your approach unique from other coaches?

I wouldn’t even consider it coaching. It’s more of a business-strategic approach that I take with CEOs, C-suite executives, and founders. My work is about taking your vision and turning it into something financially viable and personally meaningful, using the same rigor you’d apply to planning any business. But what makes my approach unique is that I start by making sure every woman looks at her next chapter through a uniquely female lens. The women I work with are contemplating these next chapters after decades of corporate experience—decades of sinking their all into everyone and everything external to themselves. They’ve given everything to their careers, their companies, their families. Now they realize ‘It’s my turn. My time’.

For women stepping out of the C-suite, what are some of their visions for their next chapter?

Starting a business is one vision I’ve seen, but it’s not the only one. Some women want corporate board positions. Others want to write the book they’ve carried inside them for years. Some want to speak, advocate, or use their voices in new ways. And many want to build something that has nothing to do with what they did before. When you’ve spent decades driving results outwardly, turning that ambition inward can feel unfamiliar. Even extraordinarily successful women bring fear and imposter syndrome to these conversations. They may have been CEOs of large companies, but stepping into something new triggers uncertainty. Part of the power of this collective is the safety of being in a community with other accomplished women who share that lived experience. You can admit those fears. You can say, “I don’t know what’s next,” and be met with understanding instead of judgment.

What draws you all together?

The women who come to The Catalytic Collective share a readiness for transformation. I curate the group one woman at a time because alignment matters. Some women are exiting a chapter; others are redefining the one they’re in. Within the collective, you can focus on your leadership journey, your entrepreneurial journey, your wellness journey, your financial freedom journey. I also host a Catalytic Mastermind webinar for women inside and outside the network to think together about their visions. We help one another identify what’s possible and what the next step could be. It starts with that catalytic moment—when you realize it’s time to pivot or re-envision your path.

The name of your company was very intentional. Tell us about that.

The “catalytic” part is about that moment, but also about the collection of moments you accumulate over decades. After 25 or 30 years, you reach a point where you say, “It’s my time.” And the “collective” is what happens when you bring together powerful, experienced women who harness their energy for themselves and for each other. There is tremendous power in that.

What inspired you to start The Catalytic Collective?

It was my own catalytic moment two years ago. My youngest was a sophomore at NYU, buzzing with questions about her future. Then I realized, I have my whole life ahead of me, too. I get to decide what the next 30 years will look like. That moment sent me down my own path of reinvention, and The Collective mirrors that journey.

Have you encountered women who say, “I’ve always wanted to reinvent myself, but my own brain got in the way”?

All the time. That’s why my Vision to Venture program begins with defining what kind of freedom you want and evolves into the nuts and bolts of creating a financially viable venture. We combine intuition with financial modeling, cost analysis, revenue projections, funding strategies, and risk mitigation. You get clarity and confidence because at the end of the day, we still want and need to get paid.

There might even be a podcast on the horizon. The women in our collective have such rich stories and high-energy conversations that the idea of bringing those voices to a wider audience truly excites me.
